Commercial Terms
Forbes Kirby is an incorporated legal practice. Our liability is limited by a scheme approved under Professional Standards Legislation.
We are committed to being upfront and clear about our fees and how we bill for our work.
Unless we agree otherwise with you, our services are provided under our standard Costs Agreement. This is a document that sets out, in plain terms:
- the rates we charge for our work;
- how often we send invoices (every two weeks); and
- your rights as a client, including what to do if you have a question about a bill.
This is all in line with the Legal Profession Uniform Law, which sets out how law firms in Western Australia must deal with clients on costs and billing.
Before we start work, we will let you know our rates, give you an idea of what your matter is likely to cost, where that can be estimated, and, if your matter involves going to court, explain what costs may be at stake.
If you have any questions about these commercial terms or how we handle your personal information, please don't hesitate to get in touch with our team. We're happy to help clarify anything you need.
