We often say we retain two things: our clients and our people. The best work happens when people feel seen, supported, and given space to succeed. This month, we're celebrating a staff promotion and two new roles at the firm.

Growth at a firm happens in a couple of ways: bringing new people in, and moving good people up. We're celebrating both.

Leslie, our new Strategic Relationships Manager

Leslie Seigneur is joining Forbes Kirby as our Strategic Relationships Manager, a brand new role for the firm, which we're very excited about. Leslie works closely with clients, advisers, and our lawyers to connect people with the right expertise across commercial law, disputes, transactions, and private client matters.

Leslie brings a very different kind of background to the team, with experience across workforce planning, operational delivery, technology, and business analysis. Her previous roles have been with Apple, LVMH, and within logistics and consulting businesses. She holds an MBA in Luxury Brand Management from Bordeaux, alongside degrees in Business Law and Law from Perth.

Leslie is committed to delivering an exceptional client experience while contributing to the firm's continued growth. She is very passionate about building trusted relationships.

Congratulations to Emma, promoted to Associate

Emma first joined Forbes Kirby in 2020 as an intern, and has been here since. She was admitted to the Supreme Court of Western Australia in 2023, and has just been promoted to Associate. Over the past few years, Emma has become an integral part of our litigation practice, and her promotion is very well deserved.

Emma has extensive experience in civil litigation, advising on commercial, contractual, shareholder, and employment disputes, as well as matters involving trusts, directors' duties, and judicial review. She has appeared for clients across a range of Western Australian and interstate courts and tribunals, and contributes to legal education as a sessional academic at Curtin University.

We're always on the lookout for good people, not just good lawyers

Our team is growing, and we're always open to hear from people who fit our culture, whatever stage of their career they're at. Working here means real career progression, exposure to a variety of clients and matters, and a workplace built on mutual respect rather than ego. We offer ongoing mentorship, keep an open door, and we constantly encourage curiosity. We also pride ourselves on having a diverse team, because better thinking comes from different perspectives.

When it comes to hiring, we hire for team fit and potential first. We'd rather bring in someone who's right for the team and has room to grow than someone who ticks every box on paper but just isn't the right fit. Some of our best hires weren't the most experienced or obviously qualified candidate at the time, they were the ones we backed to grow with us. If you're interested in becoming a part of our team, take a look at our careers page. Here you'll learn about our hiring process, what to expect working at Forbes Kirby, and you can even leave an expression of interest.

Interested in working with us instead? We'd love to hear from you. Get in touch and we'll point you in the right direction.
